A year after meeting on a dating app, commercial real estate professional Hossain surprised public health consultant Persaud with a trip to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, in June 2022, supposedly to celebrate his birthday. The couple stayed at the luxurious Rosewood hotel, and Hossain had secretly arranged to propose at the intimate Feliciana Hotel just across the street. When it came time to choose a wedding destination the following year, there was no hesitation—they knew they wanted to return to the place where their journey took such a meaningful turn.
To fully embrace the charm of the historic town, the couple chose to spread their wedding events across various scenic outdoor locations at both hotels. “We couldn’t imagine asking our guests to travel all the way to another country, only to sit in generic ballrooms,” the bride explains. The festivities kicked off with a welcome dinner on the rooftop of Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, where guests enjoyed panoramic views of the city. The wedding ceremony took place in the lush garden of the property, followed by lunch at the Feliciana Hotel across the street, the same spot where the groom had proposed. The evening concluded with a golden hour reception at Rancho Las Sabinas, a popular and picturesque wedding venue in the area.
Captured by Artevisual, we’re celebrating all the unique way they brought their culture into their love story.

Attire and Style
The couple’s wedding attire was a stylish mix of traditional Indian garments from both well-known and up-and-coming designers. The bride chose outfits from Shyamal & Bhumika, Label Anushree, Shivan & Narresh, Torani, and Sabyasachi. For a modern touch, she had Airloom Jewels design a custom mangalsutra that seamlessly blended with her everyday jewelry. “We placed the traditional black beads at the back, while the front featured three marquise diamonds arranged in a lotus leaf pattern,” she explains. The groom’s wardrobe included selections from Project Bandi, Suit Supply, Arjan Dugal, Anita Dongre, and Sabyasachi.

In The Details
The couple understood that the key to a memorable destination wedding lay in meticulous styling and flawless organization. With wedding planner Filomenna Planning at the helm, they were assured that every detail was expertly managed and that the depth of layers in the venue and the backdrop worked nicely into each moment.

The couple wanted their guests to experience the charm of the city they had fallen in love with, so they scheduled just one event per day, allowing plenty of time for exploration. They provided guests with a curated list of local spots to visit and enjoy.
They also made a point to collaborate with local vendors whenever possible. “San Miguel has become a popular wedding destination, and we noticed that local vendors are enthusiastic about learning and participating in South Asian weddings. It was important to us to support their efforts,” the bride explains.
