About Ophelia

Ophelia was born from the idea of transcending through flowers.

Our name is inspired by the character Ophelia from William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. Ophelia, a noblewoman of Denmark, falls in love with the main character, Hamlet. After a series of events, including the death of her father, Ophelia begins to lose her sanity, singing songs everywhere and offering flowers with special meanings. Eventually, another character, Queen Gertrude, poetically announces Ophelia’s death in a stream. This scene has inspired various painters, such as John Everett Millais.

For us, Ophelia symbolizes beauty and delicate fragility, often evoking images of floral elegance and wistful charm.

In our early days, we crafted bridal bouquets with succulents, which brides could later transplant and transform into a garden.

In the ten years we’ve been in business, we have explored and developed our unique style. Our floral designs emerge from a naturalistic perspective, drawing inspiration from nature to create compositions that transport you to a garden.

We grow some flowers seasonally, a practice we embraced more deeply during the pandemic, which offered us time to learn and explore this passion for flower cultivation. We have a small greenhouse, a sacred space where spending time becomes a delightful therapy. We continually seek to learn from flowers, from their magic and beauty, which inspire us to interpret them in our floral creations.

We strive for a natural and free-spirited balance in our work.
